Our Mission: To explore, enjoy and protect the wold places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out those objectives.
 
 

 

General Meeting is held the third Monday of each month. Each month we present a program of environmental interest to the general public. Free and open to the public. We meet at Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main St. in Lexington, 7:30 PM.

October Program (October 19): ?How would you like to take a virtual hike through Europe top to bottom? Following a Sierra Club Travel Guide to the GR-5 Larry Ridenour bicycled and walked from the North Sea in Holland to the Mediterranean Sea at Nice, France. For three weeks every summer, from 2000 thru 2003, he followed one of Europe’s most popular hiking trails, the Grande Radonee’ Cinq (GR-5) which runs for 1,500 miles through Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and France. Come join us!

December Holiday Party! (December 12): We'll be having our annual Holiday Party at the home of Donna DePenning, 830 Sunset Drive in Lexington. This is a well-attended event, so don't miss it! Watch this space for updates on start time.

Business Meeting is held the first Monday of each month. We discuss the operations of the Group during this meeting. Free and open to all members. Location: 836 Melrose Ave. Lexington, KY. 7:00PM

Conservation Committee- Meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month. Location: At the home of Donna DePenning, 830 Sunset Ave. in Chevy Chase. 7:30 PM.

Inner City Outings Steering Committee- Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at the home of Joey Shadoewn, 114 Woodford Dr. Lexington, 7:30PM. The Inner City Outings Program provides outings for local children who have limited opportinities to enjoy the outdoors. For more information, click here.

Outings- Each month local leaders volunteer their time to lead dayikes, bike outings, backpack trips and other outdoor activities to provide fun and social opportunities to our members.
